Be Still and Know
Leaders: Steve & Lorinna H.
Group Description: Busyness. A word that can describe both the content and context of our lives. A word that can even describe our state of mind. As we rush around and do all that needs to be done, we hope to find some relief when we can finally sit down. Yet, the busyness of our minds refuses to relent. Frenetic thought patterns can even seem to intensify. This busyness can crowd out what is truly most important, leaving us feeling exhausted and alone. The Word of God leads us and teaches us to “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). This is actually the opposite of busyness! But what does this mean? How is it done? Why would I do “less” instead of “more”?
In our Be Still and Know small group, we will take time every other Friday night to explore and practice this topic. We will spend time learning about how to still our minds. We will spend time learning how Scripture and music can help guide and focus our minds. We will spend time with one another learning how to “be still and know.”
Our small group will start meeting on Friday, September 18. We will meet from 6:30-7:30 pm. Our group will meet every other Friday for this semester.
